Tilak was founded in 1986 in the Czech Republic by mountaineer Roman Kamler as a company producing sleeping bags.
In 1993, the company signed a contract with Gore-tex and in 2000 the Tilak clothing line was born under the Tilak brand name.
The company’s proven technology has been recognised by the Czech State Mountaineering Rescue Unit, the Czech Mountain Guides Association, the Mountain Rescue Service,

Tilak is located in the Czech Republic, an Eastern European country that produces some of the world’s best climbers. The company has a staff of around 50 people who manage production in a fully integrated in-house factory.
